I mean, the special effects should be cool in the movie but the writing and the acting will suck. These people have never heard of Dragonball til they were casted. They will fail.

True, but the same was said about Spawn (which, BTW has enough fantastic material that would allow it to become a great movie if they get a decent director, say, the director and producers of Dark Knight) and the movie flopped! Special effects don't make the movie, storytelling and comprehensive ideas do. Dragonball is just way too out there and imaginary to seem "plausible" in real life. Sure, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon had out there fight scenes (which I'm guessing will be the framework for the Dragonball movie) but at least it's founded in a somewhat real environment (we're talking about clans and ancient Asia which was real), the only thing out there was the fighting and abilities. On the other hand, Dragonball is founded on a somewhat goofy earth with Dogs as Mayors (or cats or bears or some other animal), flying catlike creatures, a talking turtle, green pointy-eared people, and the list goes on.

And a shapeshifting pig.

isnt this shat like modernized... i heard goku is supposed to be in high school and shat...way off ..... but what did people expect i guess...oh and that chi chi actor isnt even an actor... she came out in the real world... trust me my dog can act better then her... ill prolly still rent it but trust me this will suck..oh and if any one is intrested they already have a DBZ live action movie... it's called dragon ball the magic begins... you can get it off netflix... now that is just like the cartoon yet it manages to fail... look it up on youtube for scenes/.......
