Summary
Game Description
It's the end of the world as we know it, but we feel fine because Bethesda has resurrected the cult-favorite role-playing series Fallout. Like their earlier Oblivion, players will be able to enjoy the post-apocalyptic action in the first-person perspective as well as the third. Here, players can customize their character before taking him or her out into the wastelands of Washington, D.C. to search for dear old dad, opting to become either a hero to millions or public enemy number one. Adventurers will also be able to form two-man parties and be accompanied by the ever-faithful hound Dogmeat. Fallout 3 is available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. It also comes in a Collector's Edition for $69 that includes a Vault Boy Bobblehead, hardcover art book, making-of DVD, and Vault-Tec lunch box.

In a nutshell - epic
What's there to say about Fallout 3 that hasn't been said? Though I'm shocked there's no PS3 review for this game, I can attest to the fact that it's the same fine game on both systems.
However, on the PS3, make sure to sign out of the PSN before you pop this game in. A nasty glitch makes the game pause for a few seconds whenever a PSN friend signs in OR out, and that can just kill any pleasure outright.
Aside from that, enjoy Fallout 3 again and again. The world can't end just once!

A dissapointing but fun game.
I really thought this was going to be an amazing game and it almost was, it's starts amazingly enough with you literally being born, the tutorial taking you through childhood and your teenage years, and the story starts up awesomely enough, and even the game is awesome, but then something happens, i'll explain later in this review.
Graphics: When you set foot in the Wasteland you feel really lost and weak, and all the destruction around, makes the graphics look depressing, like it should be, the graphics are nicely detailed but cause destruction doesn't look rather appetizing so that's it's flaw, but it was made like that. One My biggest gripes with the game is it's commonly present slowdown ( specially in the last main quest mission) and game game commonly crashed, and it's dissapointing, because the PS3 has so much power and they basically dropped the ball on the PS3 version, Bethesda dissapointed me with this. It has some great visual effects like blood splashing on your face when shot or shooting someone closely, the way a nuclear explosion affects your sight, with blurry sight for a while, and the like. The terminal and pip boy read out are horribly small and make you squint, at least in the pip boy you can change the color, unlike the terminals, with that neon green. The character models are vastly improved from oblivion and the gore is awesome ( specially in slow mo, when using the VATS). It features some of the best explosions ever.... blow up a car and you'll see... 4.5
It's controls (specially the hotkeys) were imprecise how many times i pressed the correct direction on the d pad and it either reacted slowly or never did, though the aiming was actually tighter than i expected, you can do some serious running and gunning here. 4.5
The sound was nothing special, with repeated voices throughout the game. 4.0
The game is addicting as hell... until you reach level 20 ( the level cap!!!!) and then i lost interest in exploring dungeons ( though they are some awesome dungeons regardless of the situation, but non regenerating dungeons also affect replayabilty) and it's story starts awesomely enough but then it felt flat some key twists didn't really affect me, and the endings ( 200 endings my ass) were dissapointing. Another dissapointing thing is that when you finish the last main quest you are locked out from the rest of the game, the missions are amazing but that really made the game feel annoying, make an extra save so you can see the ending, and then keep finishing the rest of the game and exploring.
It seems a really negative review of it, but it's still worth buying so you can experience those first 20 levels that were the most addicting ones in my life, it fails were oblivion ruled, it's addicting longevity and the shear freedom it gave you. SO after finishing the main quests, reaching the level cap and exploring the crap out of the game, one quote immediately popped in my head, from Star Wars Episode III: Obi Wan: ''You were The Chosen One! It was said that you would destroy The Sith, not join them! It was you who would bring balance to The Force, not leave it in Darkness!''
In short it's a good game, not the amazing game it was supposed to be.
Fun factor: 4.5

A Classic
I was skeptical at first about buying this one, but I gave in and purchased Fallout 3. This was the best decision I've made lately.
Its easier to put it this way, I've purchased this game for both 360 and PS3. It is the same game regardless of which version you seek.
This game is a must-own, especially if your only console is a PS3.

No difference, you 360 fanboys
This game is just as good as the 360 version. There is a Vault 101 save, to those who say there isn't. The graphics are just as good if not better. The gameplay is awesome, and I actually find the story fun to go through conversations. The radio stations make an eerie, creepy ubeat music, that goes against what's actually happening. There are probably 1000s of choices to make, making it, in my mind, the best console RPG ever. The third person camera is annoying, but you don't have to use that. Buy this, don't rent. It's awesome enoguh that it isn't considered a waste of money for 100$.
P.S. deadmanwalking or wulfshemit or you other sony haters, don't comment on this, Don't whine that the 360 is better, even though here is absolutely no difference between the games.
